Mike Pancoast was named safety, security and training manager for the South Bend Public Transportation Corp. (Transpo). He will be responsible for safety education, accident prevention, loss control and security along with environmental and regulatory compliance.

Daniel Hollenbach has joined Voith Turbo Inc. as regional manager for the commercial vehicle group. He will be responsible for managing sales and service for the Midwest and Western regions.

Jeffrey Schechtman has been named deputy regional business manager for the Southeast region of Parsons Brinckerhoff. He will work with managers in the nine states that comprise Parsons Brinckerhoff’s Southeast region to enhance relationships with key clients, expand business development opportunities, and invigorate marketing and pursuit efforts. Paula Hammond, a senior vice president in the Seattle office, has been named to the board of directors of WTS International. She serves as the firm’s national transportation market leader, responsible for working with transportation agencies across the nation to advance transportation policy and programs. Angel Velazquez has been named a principal technical Specialist in the Newark, N.J., office. He's responsible for the design and review of plans for railroad and transit signal projects. Rock Antonios has been named a senior project engineer in the New York City office. He will be lead mechanical-electrical-plumbing engineer for the Fulton Center.

Andrew Frey was appointed to the governing board of the South Florida Regional Transportation Authority. He currently serves as a board member of the American Planning Association Gold Coast Section and previously served as the Miami chair of the Urban Land Institute.

Alex Ward was hired as a technical sales engineer at REO-USA Inc. Most recently he served as a senior field service engineer where he provided field support and trained operators and equipment owners on drive equipment throughout the U.S.

Diane Caldera was named director of operations at Omnitrans after serving eight months as interim director. She joined Omnitrans in 2005 as a coach operator and within six months she took a position in human resources then later returned to operations to work as a field supervisor.

Mike Restle was named chief financial officer of Cincinnati Metro. He will be responsible for Metro’s $92.9 million annual operating budget, capital program, grants administration, financial reporting and treasury management activities, and investments. Operator Antonio Lackey received a CEO's STAR award at the Southwest Ohio Regional Transit Authority Board meeting on Feb. 18 for helping a pedestrian who fell on some ice and began to bleed.

Ryan Harshbarger was named director of transportation for the Centre Area Transportation Authority (CATA). He joined CATA in 2008 as the authority’s transportation analyst and since that time has advanced to increasingly responsible positions.

Richard J. Palmieri joined Veolia Transportation as vice president of business development for rail. He previously worked with Siemens Infrastructure & Cities, as director of business development where he was responsible for sales and account management focused on transit and freight rail customers within the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic regions.

Maria Augimeri was appointed as chair of the Toronto Transit Commission. She's currently a city councillor for the city of Toronto.

Alex Briseño was selected as chair the Via Metropolitan Transit Board of Trustees. Doug Poneck was named vice chair and businessman Lou Miller appointed to the secretary position.

Don Flood, PE has joined Hatch Mott MacDonald as its new group marketing manager. He comes to the company after having served as director of marketing and proposals at an international engineering firm that concentrates in the infrastructure sector.

Matt Newsome has been promoted to senior vice president and general manager of Cubic Transportation Systems North and South America. He will be responsible for overall performance of all programs in North and South America and execution of the NextCity vision and strategic plan in these regions.

Leslie Browder joined Capital Metro as executive vice president and chief financial officer. She  comes to the agency from Travis County, where she served as the executive manager of planning, budgets, human resources, information technology and facilities management.

Marco Fumagalli assumes the role as president and CEO of Ansaldo STS USA. He will also retain his previous role as global senior vice president of strategy, quality and improvement. Roberto Passalacqua was appointed as the vice president of railways & mass transit business unit in North America. He graduated with a degree in electrical engineering from the University of Genoa and a master's degree from the University of Birmingham. Jason White will take the role of vice president of the freight business unit. He maintains his current commercial activities as well as assuming responsibility for the delivery of projects within the freight business unit.

Transit Safety & Security Solutions, Inc. is pleased to announce Alex Z. Wiggins as the company's chief security officer. He will be responsible for overseeing TSSS' Security Services division, as well as assisting with system safety and security management on Denver?s Eagle P3 project.

Sameer Singla was appointed senior director of Sabic’s Innovative Plastics Polymershapes distribution unit. He brings nearly 20 years of global business experience and extensive knowledge of plastics and distribution to Polymershapes
