Mike Roark has been hired as regional sales manager for Western North America for Code Blue Corporation. He has more than 20 years in the security and technology sector with particular expertise in sales management, data, telecommunications, CCTV, access control, surveillance and networks.
Proterra Inc. has hired Steve Waters as director of commercial sales and finance. Waters comes to Proterra from Navistar, where he held various senior leadership roles in several divisions.
Keyvan Pirbazari, P.E., joined Gannett Fleming as a senior program manager in the transit and rail practice in the Los Angeles office. He is responsible for client development and transit and rail infrastructure projects. David A. Farley relocated to the west coast from the firm’s Chicago office. He serves as a vice president for Gannett Fleming Transit & Rail Systems, a division of Gannett Fleming specializing in design and construction management of transit and railroad track, signal, communication, and electric traction.
Tony Brown has been named bus operator of the year by the Maryland Transit Administration (MTA). Brown joined the MTA in 1991. He works at MTA’s Northwest Bus Division. The 22-year veteran is an avid car buff and enjoys spending time with his family.
Mike Richardson has been appointed parts territory sales manager for the southern region for ABC Companies. His territory will include Texas, Oklahoma, Arizona, and New Mexico.
New members of the Fort Worth Transportation Authority (The T) board held their first meeting March 18. New board members include Chair Scott Mahaffey, Vice Chair Sylvia Cervantes, secretary Andre’ McEwing, Jeff R. Davis, Carter Burdette, Dennis Dunkins, Sr., Jeff King, Ken Newell and Neftali Ortiz.
Richard Paprcka took over as chief operating officer for the Delaware Transit Corporation (DTC) on March 4. Paprcka comes to DTC after a long career at NJ Transit, serving most recently as director of maintenance for northern division bus operations.
Valley Metro CEO Stephen R. Banta was recognized for his contribution to advancing female and minority leadership at the agency by the WTS Metropolitan Phoenix Chapter on March 2. Banta focused on diversity within his top management after becoming Valley Metro’s CEO in March 2012 by making an intentional commitment to increase diverse leadership at the agency. Banta was also unanimously approved by members of the South West Transit Association (SWTA) to serve as the secretary/treasurer for the 2013 term.
Brian Myles has joined Stertil-Koni as sales manager, eastern region. Myles previously served as a manufacturer’s representative for 18 years with McIndoo. He resides with his family in Huntington, N.Y.
First Transit announced the appointment of Jeremy Brown as its director of business development. Brown has been with First Transit since 2002 and has worked within the transportation industry since 1998. He will be based in Las Vegas.
Joe Boyer has joined Atkins as CEO of its North American region. Boyer previously worked at Shaw Environmental & Infrastructure, Inc. in Austin, Texas, where he has held the position of president of its federal division. He has managed multiple business lines since 2003, leading some of the largest and most important environmental and infrastructure projects in the U.S.
Steve Glenn has joined The Louis Berger Group, Inc. as the new vice president of disaster and emergency management. He will be based in Raleigh, N.C., and will oversee the firm’s existing multidisciplinary disaster management services. Kirit Mevawala joins the firm as director of rail and transit. Mevawala, based in the company’s headquarters in Morristown, N.J., will serve as the project manager for the Northeast Corridor Maglev project between Washington, D.C., and New York and support other rail and transit initiatives throughout the company.
Sipriana Farrell was named coach operator of the year by the Orange County Transportation Farrell has worked at OCTA for 23 years and currently works in the Santa Ana, Calif., bus operations. Albert Vailea was named maintenance employee of the year. He has worked at OCTA for 21 years and currently works in the Garden Grove, Calif., maintenance department. Jennifer O’Connor was named administrative employee of the year. She has worked at OCTA for 10 years and currently works in the external affairs division.
Peter Denitz is rejoining Parsons Brinckerhoff and has been named manager-special projects in the firm’s transit and rail technical excellence center in Philadelphia. James Shedaker has been named a principal technical specialist in the Lawrenceville, N.J., office of Parsons Brinckerhoff. David Alvarez has been named a principal consultant in the strategic consulting for the company. Brett Wallace has been named a senior supervising planner in the Charlotte office. Lane Fernandes has been named a senior principal technical specialist in the San Diego office.
Parsons announced that Jared B. Scarbrough, a senior engineer, has been recognized by Engineering News-Record (ENR) as one of the Mountain States’ Top 20 Under 40. Scarbrough joined Parsons in September 2009, and he has served as deputy design project manager, systems manager, and utility manager for light rail transit and roadway projects throughout the U.S.
Teddy Bolden II and Cliff Simental have been named as principals at Psomas. Bolden is vice president in the Psomas Santa Clarita, Calif., office, has 35 years of experience covering site development, forward planning, and business development for public and private projects and the energy market in Los Angeles, Ventura, and Kern Counties. Cliff Simental, PLS, serves as vice president and survey team leader in Psomas’ Inland Empire office. He is a registered professional land surveyor with 38 years of surveying experience throughout California.
Susann Poggioli has been appointed of as sales executive to serve the eastern U.S. transit market for Enghouse Transportation. Prior to joining Enghouse Transportation, Poggioli was a sales executive with Clever Devices and Trapeze Software.
The Regional Transportation Authority (RTA) announced the appointment of Sarah Pang as its newest board member, representing the city of Chicago. Pang replaces Carole Brown who resigned from the RTA Board last month. The board term expires in July, 2017.
WTS International announced that it has chosen U.S. Department of Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood as its first-ever recipient of the Navigator Award. The Navigator Award was created by WTS International to recognize the achievements of an individual or organization for extraordinary efforts to attract, retain, and advance women in the transportation industry. This is the first time that WTS, the association for the advancement of women in transportation, is presenting the award.
The Jacksonville Transportation Authority hired Alice Tolbert Cannon as vice president of external affairs. Cannon has spent the past seven years as senior manager of Parsons Brinckerhoff’s Atlanta office. Henry Li has been hired as JTA’s vice president of finance and administration/CFO. Li, was chief financial and administrative officer at Hampton Roads Transit in Hampton, Va. Michael J. Sloan has been named vice president of compliance and risk management.
Kai Fishman, RA, CLARB, LEED AP, has joined Maintenance Design Group, LLC as senior facility designer. Fishman has more than a decade of experience in transportation architecture and planning projects.
Capital Area Transit (CAT) has named Robert J. Philbin marketing and communications officer for the authority. Philbin is responsible for CAT’s strategic marketing, public relations and internal communications.
Global Display Solutions announced that Robert Heise has joined the company as executive vice president and general manager of its America's operations. He will be tasked with expanding the sales of GDS’ display products and services in the DOOH, transportation, industrial and medical markets.
John Ponzio has been promoted to vice president in STV's Transportation and Infrastructure Division, Ponzio joined STV in 1999, has more than 15 years of experience as a project manager and systems engineer. Clark D. Caughey, CPA, has been promoted to vice president of STV Group, Inc. Caughey joined STV's accounting department in 1996 as an accounting manager and was appointed controller in 2009. Richard M. Amodei has been named the head of the firm's transportation and infrastructure division's Northeast region, which includes offices in New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts and Canada.
Mathieu Faure and Keith Reardon have been elected to the Intermodal Transportation Institute Board of Directors. Faure is vice president of marketing and sales, intermodal, with Canadian Pacific Railway. Reardon is vice president of intermodal services for Canadian National Railway

Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations announced Matthew Stevenson as new vice president of marketing for its commercial tire division. He most recently was general manager of North American field operations and marketing for Meritor, Inc.
Andre Boutros has been named executive director of the California Transportation Commission Prior to joining the Commission, Boutros held numerous technical, management and leadership positions with the California Department of Transportation.
