Electronic Fare Collection Solutions from INIT

Oct. 5, 2011

INIT Innovations in Transportation Inc.'s all-in-one hardware for electronic fare collection offers lower maintenance, lower cost and total system integration. The collection box improves on-time performance by reducing boarding time at stops while offering convenience to the passenger to use various methods of fare payment such as QR codes or smart cards.

The company entered the North American electronic fare collection segment of the public transportation industry back in July. INIT was awarded a contract with Sacramento Area Council of Governments (SACOG) in California for the installation of a multi-agency electronic fare collection solution on over 500 of the agencies’ buses and at more than 80 locations on rail station platforms.
