Eagle Eye Networks on Aug. 27 announced the availability of its “VSaaS: 11 Reasons Why Video Surveillance is Moving to the Cloud” whitepaper. The report covers an 11 point comparison of a VSaaS (cloud-based video management system) to a traditional DVR, NVR, or VMS system that is connected to the Internet.
The report also includes the criteria for a true cloud system as defined by the U.S. Department of Commerce standards group NIST.
VSaaS, or Video Surveillance as a Service, refers to hosted cloud video surveillance. The service typically includes video recording, remote viewing, alerts, cyber security and much more.
