The recommendations, along with likely disgruntled ferry and bus riders, are to appear before the City Council on Tuesday night for a public hearing.

Proposed Vallejo bus and ferry fare rate increases: Vallejo Transit buses may see 50-cent fare increases and fuel surcharges in 50-cent increments Baylink Ferry rate hikes would include increasing a typical $270 monthly pass to $350.
Bus and ferry rate increases, following closely behind last summer's hikes, may push Vallejo's public transportation costs beyond those of other Bay Area transit systems, said Vallejo Transportation Superintendent Crystal Odum Ford.

"All the agencies are going to be following suit, even if Vallejo's out in the lead," said Ford. "We do recognize that we may price ourselves out, but we're trying to not ground ourselves. Vallejo is just out in front of the curve."

The Vallejo Baylink Advisory Committee is not supporting the proposed changes, said committee member Kathy Beistel.
