The Greater Dallas/Fort Worth Chapter of Women’s Transportation Seminar (WTS), an international organization of women and men dedicated to advancing opportunities and leadership development for women among all transportation fields, has honored a T board member and a T employee with two of its four annual awards.

Rosa Navejar, president of the Fort Worth Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and a member of The T’s board of directors, received the 2007 Rosa Parks Diversity Leadership award for serving as a strong role model and mentor to women and minorities for advocating expanded public transportation in the North Central Texas region. Navejar will represent the local WTS chapter as a candidate for the national diversity leadership award.

Monique Pegues, director of governmental relations for The T and president of the D/FW chapter of WTS, won 2007 Member of the Year for promoting the goals and reputation of WTS within the transportation industry and for strengthening programs offered by the DFW chapter including its job bank and professional development programs.
