E-Lite Technology Appoints Doug George as VP Operations

 



E-Lite Technologies Inc. announced recently that it has promoted Douglas A. George to vice president of Operations. George has been with E-Lite Technologies for the past thirteen years. Most recently as director of R&D, he lead projects to refine lamp processing and improve quality by managing all aspects of primary manufacturing of the company’s main product line. He designed and led the development of an innovative concept for an electroluminescent lamp. George also led development of E-Lite’s in-house electronics department. He is also responsible for all aspects of the company’s intellectual property development.

George has more than 30 years experience in R&D, production and process development. Previously, he held a number of positions in 12 years of service at the Timex Corp. leading to his position as senior project engineer. At Timex, George worked on a number of leading technologies, including LCD’s, thick and thin film processing, electroluminescent technology and automated manufacturing.

Mark Appleberg, E-Lite’s president and CEO stated, “Doug came to E-Lite soon after its formation as a principal investigator and has lead a number of project teams in important corporate projects. He was instrumental in the development of E-Lume A Path, our egress marking system. He was an important contributor to the recent adoption of EL pathway lighting by the Connecticut State Building Department, as Egress Path Lighting. We are pleased to recognize Doug for his significant contributions to our company and the industry in general.”

George is a past speaker at the Connecticut Critical Technologies Conference and administered a $1.1M SBIR / BMDO government grant related to nanotechnology. He received his undergraduate degree from Northeastern University and his Master’s degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. George is the co-inventor on eight patents.
