This week's Mass Transit Update features videos from the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro), Transport for London (TfL), Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA), the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) and Amtrak.

In a new animated series rail safety videos by the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro), Viewers take a trip to “Safetyville” to explore common safety-related issues in and around train tracks and stations. 

Transport for London supported National Women in Engineering Day speaking with with Michèle Dix, managing director, Crossrail 2; Rand Watkins, project engineer / lead tunnel engineer, London Underground; and Sharon Fasanya, construction planner, London Underground

After 10 years and 50 million rides, officials from the Chicago Transit Authority celebrated the 10th birthday of the Pink Line, which began service on June 25, 2006.

Orange County Transportation Authority highlighted safety—making the point that as more people drive, bike and walk on roadways, sidewalks and bike paths it’s important that everyone take responsibility to make and keep roads safe.

Completed in June 2016, the Philadelphia 30th Street Station District Plan is a long-range, master planning effort led by Amtrak, Brandywine Realty Trust, Drexel University, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, and the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority to develop a comprehensive vision for the future of the 30th Street Station District in the year 2050 and beyond.
