DART Orange Line Opening
Dallas Area Rapid Transit plans to grow its rail network to 90 miles by 2014 and on July 30, the first section of the 14-mile Orange Line opened. The line now connects to the first three stations in Irving, will reach DFW International Airport property by the end of the year and will connect to the airport’s Terminal A by the end of 2014.

CTA's New 5000-Series Cars
After a successful debut on the pink line, the Chicago Transit Authority’s newest rail cars, the 5000-series, were recently added to the Green Line. The new cars feature LED display signs in colors corresponding to the transit system’s eight rail lines.

New York MTA Tunnel Boring for Megaprojects and Bus Camera Installation

On July 23, Molina, the tunnel boring machine digging the fourth of four East Side Access tunnels in Queens, came to a halt six feet underneath the LIRR Main Line in Long Island City, completing its run. The milestone marks the end of tunnel boring for the East Side Access project, and in fact, all MTA megaprojects.
