New York MTA Side Access - 1/24/2012 Update

Aug. 15, 2012
On December 22, 2011, a tunnel boring machine (TBM) broke through the end of tunnel "A" in Long Island City. This milestone is a significant one in MTA Capital Construction's East Side Access project, an effort that will bring MTA Long Island Rail Road trains into Grand Central for the first time.

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) announced that at 7:30 a.m. this past Monday, July 23, tunnel boring on MTA projects has been completed.

This is one of a series of MTA videos highlighting the projects work since it started in fall of 2007.

You can read more about the completion of the tunnel boring megaprojects on the MTA website HERE.
