Q’Straint has announced the availability of a new option for its award winning Q’POD – the first fully integrated wheelchair securement station. The Velocity XPress is a mechanical remote release option that eliminates the need for electrical integration and makes Q’POD installation retrofits faster and less costly. The release system enables drivers to unlock rear restraints for approximately 20 seconds enabling quicker wheelchair securement and better positioning. The remote release minimizes bending by driver/operators, reducing back injuries and improving securement.

Transit operators are experiencing excellent reliability with their Q’POD systems and Q’Straint has been told by Brampton Transit that in over two years they have zero issues. Eau Claire Transit Manager, Mike Branco states, “You have less opportunity for wear and tear because the belts are not exposed, they’re self-contained. I don’t think we’ve changed a belt yet on anything and we’ve had these buses for two years now. In related news, Q’Straint has announced that it is extending the Q’POD warranty from three to five years.
