Telford Joins WSP as Senior Environmental Planning Manager for Southern California

Liz Telford has been named senior environmental planning manager in the Los Angeles office of WSP USA.

In her new position, Telford is responsible for growing the firm’s planning and environmental practice in Southern California and contributing to transportation infrastructure projects in the region. She will manage projects in a collaborative setting with multiple disciplines and provide planning expertise in the development of major infrastructure projects.

Previously, Telford was the Southern California regional manager of environmental planning for the California High-Speed Rail Project, on which she provided quality oversight of all environmental documents for the project’s Southern California region. Additionally, she managed compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act for the Regional Transportation District’s FasTracks Program in Denver, as well as serving as project manager for the draft environmental impact statement for RTD’s Gold Line, for which she received the Federal Transit Administration’s Excellence in Environmental Documentation award. She also led the environmental task on RTD’s Eagle P3 project.

Telford has a Bachelor of Science in sociology from Arizona State University, and a Master of Science in urban and regional planning from the University of Colorado at Denver. She served as the legislative liaison for the Colorado chapter of the American Planning Association for four years and has been an active member of the Women’s Transportation Seminar for over 10 years.
