TRiverside Transit Agency is telling its customers as it prepares kick off a new wave of schedule and routing improvements this Sunday.

Get ready for two new express routes and dozens of upgrades to bus service in Riverside County and beyond. That’s the message Riverside Transit Agency is telling its customers as it prepares kick off a new wave of schedule and routing improvements this Sunday.

In all, the changes will target more than 30 bus routes, improving connections, reliability and on-time performance.

Perhaps the most signi fi cant improvement is the introduction of CommuterLink Route 200 with service connecting San Bernardino, Riverside, Orange and the Disney resort in Anaheim. The route will operate roughly every 60 minutes on weekdays and every 60 minutes to 120 minutes on weekends.

RTA also plans to introduce CommuterLink Route 205 between Temecula, Lake Elsinore, Corona and the Village at Orange. The section of this route between Corona and the Village at Orange is expected to launch January 29, pending a public hearing and RTA Governing Board approval.

The new routes come during a busy time for RTA, which has upgraded its entire bus fl eet with free, wireless Internet access and USB charging ports. Using their Wi-Fi enabled device, customers can now check their e-mail, get some work done, or surf the web from the comfort of their seats.

“When it comes to travel, we are challenging the automobile like never before,” said RTA Chairman of the Board Art Welch. “These changes will enhance connectivity and make travel more accessible and convenient for our customers.”

Some highlights of the service change include: In Eastvale, Routes 3 and 29 will be extended north to serve the new Amazon warehouses and future Costco. In Perris and Moreno Valley, Route 19 weekday trips between 6 a.m. and 6

p.m. will be increased to operate every 15 minutes instead of every 30 minutes. In downtown Riverside, routes 29 and 49 will be expanded to serve the Riverside-Downtown Metrolink Station and new stops will be added along University Avenue and Lemon streets.

Other RTA routes undergoing schedule and/or routing changes include the 8, 10, 13, 14, 15, 19, 21, 22, 23, 24, 27, 30, 31, 33, 41, 50, 55, 61, 79 and CommuterLink express routes 202, 206, 208, 210, 212 and 217. The Route 216 will be discontinued and replaced by new routes 200 and 205.
