Denton County Transportation Authority Wins Multiple 2017 Marketing and Transit Industry Awards

The Denton County Transportation Authority was awarded a total of 24 industry and marketing awards this year from international, national and regional competitions.

The Denton County Transportation Authority was awarded a total of 24 industry and marketing awards this year from international, national and regional competitions — including top honors from Ragan Communications national award programs, Stevie Awards, American Public Transportation Association, Southwest Transit Association, as well as the Marcom and Hermes Creative Awards international programs.

“It’s an honor to be recognized by transit and marketing peers in our local community and across the country for the great marketing and communications initiatives DCTA has implemented in the past year,” said Nicole Recker, DCTA vice president of marketing and communications.

Stevie Awards — Women in Business Awards (awarded in November 2017)

The Stevie Awards are the world's premier business awards. They were created in 2002 to honor and generate public recognition of the achievements and positive contributions of organizations and working professionals worldwide. The Women in Business Awards — one of the Stevie Award programs — are open to all organizations worldwide, and recognize the achievements of women executives, entrepreneurs, and the organizations they run.

DCTA received a Bronze Award for the North Texas Xpress campaign launch.

Marcom Awards (awarded in October 2017 

The Marcom Awards — an international awards competition administered and judged by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals — recognizes outstanding creative achievement by marketing and communication professionals.

DCTA received awards for the following campaigns and initiatives:

  • Platinum Award for the North Texas Xpress campaign 
  • Gold Award for the #AskDCTA launch
  • Honorable Mention for the Bike Everywhere Challenge

dotCOMM Awards (awarded in August 2017)

The dotCOMM Awards — administered and judged by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals — is one of the largest, oldest and most respected evaluators of creative work in the marketing and communication industry. DCTA received awards for the following campaigns and initiatives:

  • Platinum Award for the Hop on Board blog launch
  • Gold Award for the A-train Fifth Birthday campaign
  • Gold Award for the GORequest campaign

SWTA Spotlight Awards (awarded in July 2017)

The Southwest Transit Association Spotlight Awards program is the oldest transit marketing and advertising award given in the United States and is awarded for excellence in a total transit marketing campaign with a “biggest-bang-for-the-buck” emphasis.

DCTA competed with transit agencies in eight southwestern states, including Texas, Arizona and Colorado, for the SWTA Marketing Spotlight Awards. The agency received awards for the following campaigns and initiatives:

  • Spotlight Award for the North Texas Xpress Bus Service launch campaign
  • Hit the Spot Award for the A-train vs I-35E marketing video
  • Hit the Spot Award for the #AskDCTA monthly series launch

Videographer Awards (awarded in July 2017)

The Videographer Awards — administered and judged by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals — is one of the oldest and most respected awards programs in the industry honoring excellent video work and projects.

DCTA received awards for the following projects:

  • Distinction Award for the brand marketing video
  • Honorable Mention for the General Safety video

Hermes Creative Awards (awarded in April 2017)

The Hermes Creative Awards — an international awards competition administered and judged by the AMCP — recognizes outstanding work in the industry while promoting the philanthropic nature of marketing and communication professionals.

DCTA received awards for the following campaigns and initiatives:

  • Platinum Award for the A-train Fifth Birthday campaign
  • Gold Award for the Highland Village News Services launch
  • Honorable Mention for the Corporate Pass Direct Mailer

Stevie Awards – American Business Awards (awarded in May 2017)

The Stevie Awards are the world's premier business awards. They were created in 2002 to honor and generate public recognition of the achievements and positive contributions of organizations and working professionals worldwide. The American Business Awards — one of the Stevie Award programs — are the premier business awards program in the U.S.A. open to all organizations operating in the U.S.A., and feature a wide variety of categories to recognize achievement in every facet of the workplace.

DCTA received a Bronze Award for the Corporate Pass Program sales kit.

Ragan Communications PR Daily Awards (awarded in April 2017)

Ragan Communications’ PR Daily Awards is competitive, national marketing and public relations competition honoring outstanding work across the country. DCTA received an honorable mention award for the A-train Fifth Birthday campaign.

APTA AdWheel Marketing Awards (awarded in February 2017)

The American Public Transit Association AdWheel Awards program recognize the marketing and communications efforts of APTA’s members across the country. Additionally, the annual awards competition creates a structure to share best practices and to raise the awareness of the value of public transportation marketing professionals within the industry.

DCTA received awards for the following campaigns and initiatives:

  • First Place for the A-train Fifth Birthday campaign

AVA Digital Awards Winner (awarded in January 2017)

The AVA Digital Awards — an international awards competition administered and judged by the AMCP — recognizes excellence by creative professionals responsible for the planning, concept, direction, design and production of digital communication.
