Laketran swore in three trustees at the Monday, June 26, 2017 meeting. Two new trustees recently appointed by Lake County Commissioners are Concord Township residents, Dennis M. Lafferty and Lane H. Sheets. Lafferty and Sheets, along with reappointed board president Brian Falkowski, will serve three-year terms. Falkowski has served the Laketran board since 2011.
Lafferty is currently the vice president, strategic operations & community relations at The Bernie Moreno Companies. He brings over 35 years of civic engagement and business consulting experience to the Laketran Board of Trustees.
Lane H. Sheets, owner and president of Diversified Business Systems, has 40 years of IT and engineering expertise. He is a 2010 graduate of Leadership Lake County and has served on many local boards.
Following the swearing in of all trustees, Falkowski commented, “I am honored to be reappointed to the Laketran board and continue to serve as president. I look forward to working together and engaging the professional expertise of our new trustees alongside our current board. The individuals appointed bring deep experience in a range of fields including business administration, finance, community engagement, public policy and technology. They have also been active members of their communities.”
The Laketran Board of Trustees are responsible for the general oversight of the Lake County public transportation system, including the annual budget and fare structure. They are appointed by Lake County Commissioner to a three-year term.
The Laketran Board of Trustees’ meetings are open to the public and meet the last Monday of each month.
