The Corpus Christi Regional Transportation Authority has announced a new pilot shuttle program that will service Aransas Pass and Port Aransas by shuttling people on the ferry.

The new route: Route 99 will allow for priority access onto the ferry which will reduce wait times for people traveling on this shuttle, making it a more effective means of transportation. This shuttle will help close the gap in the lack of transit services from the mainland to the ferry and off again.

“This shuttle will allow for more mobility for all people in Port Aransas in particular the workers who may not possess their own vehicles,” said Kelly Coughlin, director of marketing. “We also believe that this shuttle will help provide more mobility to tourists who don’t want to drive in this area.”

The city of Port Aransas showed great concern for those riders who were traveling by bus and ferry and saw a need for additional service. The CCRTA worked closely with the city of Port Aransas and wants to better assist riders in that area traveling across the ferry.

The shuttle service begins this Monday, June 26th and will fun daily from 6 a.m.- 8 p.m. and will cost only $.25.
