On Saturday, April 22nd, the Transportation Association of Maryland (TAM) hosted its 22nd Annual Roadeo. Matt Paugh, Garrett Transit Service, was awarded the top honor, winning a full scholarship to attend the CTAA National Roadeo in Detroit, Michigan, this June. David Hall, Harford Transit LINK, and James Kisner, Garrett Transit Service, took second and third place respectively. Hall and Kisner also received scholarships to attend the CTAA National Roadeo.

The competition measured drivers' skills in maneuvering vehicles among challenging driving obstacles. Each driver performed a pre-trip inspection of a vehicle and demonstrated proficiency in wheelchair securement and passenger assistance.

"We are extremely happy to provide transit drivers an event that showcases their skills and recognizes their continuous hard work throughout the state of Maryland. We look forward to supporting Mr. Paugh at the CTAA Roadeo this June and will continue to provide training and event opportunities for our members" noted Board President Gary Blazinsky.

The event took place on Saturday morning, April 22nd, at the Maryland Transit Administration's Dorsey MARC Station in Elkridge, Maryland. CTAA's National Roadeo takes place during the CTAA Expo June 11-15th in Detroit.
