VHB Welcomes Wendy Holsberger as Transportation Systems Director in Albany

Holsberger will lead the firm’s Albany-based traffic engineering and transportation planning practice for real estate, transportation, infrastructure, and institutional projects in the private and public sectors.

VHB has announced Wendy Holsberger, PE, PTOE, as transportation systems director for the Capital District. Holsberger will lead the firm’s Albany-based traffic engineering and transportation planning practice for real estate, transportation, infrastructure, and institutional projects in the private and public sectors.

“Wendy has been a trusted advisor to New York property owners and developers as well as municipalities and public agencies for over 25 years,” said Michael Tucker, Albany managing director. “She brings her professional transportation perspective to our local team of engineers, scientists, and planners for the delivery of integrated services across all markets. I have known and worked with Wendy for many years, and she will be a tremendous asset to VHB. We are excited to have her join our Albany team.”

Holsberger directs transportation consulting services for projects large and small, partnering with her clients to plan, assess, and design traffic engineering solutions for travelers of all modes. She also completes air quality assessments for transportation projects, and manages project scoping, budgeting, scheduling, and quality control. Notable projects have included traffic impact studies for the proposed expansion of GlobalFoundries in Malta and redevelopment of the Nevele Resort in the Catskills; a pedestrian safety study along New York Route 5 from Albany to Schenectady; the proposed Old Maxwell Shopping Center in Colonie; and numerous other projects, including those in the retail sector for Shop Rite, CVS, and Cumberland Farms.

Holsberger earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering at Worcester Polytechnic Institute. She is a licensed professional engineer and certified professional traffic operations engineer, and has presented on contemporary transportation issues at industry conferences and events. She is a member of the Institute of Transportation Engineers, American Society of Civil Engineers, New York State Association of Transportation Engineers, and Women at Work.
