A bus bridge will be used over the next week to assist Red Line passengers whose usual MetroRail ride is not available due to signal improvement work.

On Sunday Jan. 8 through end of service Monday, Jan. 9, a bus bridge will run between UH-Downtown and Northline Transit Center/HCC stations.

Beginning Tuesday, Jan. 10 through start of service Sunday, Jan. 15, a bus bridge will run between Burnett Transit Center/Casa de Amigo and Northline Transit Center/HCC Stations.

The Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County (Metro) will provide free service via shuttle buses to bridge the closure and transport affected passengers. Signs at closed rail platforms will guide riders to nearby rail shuttle stops. Please allow for extra time to complete trips. Metro staff will also be on hand to assist riders during normal rail service hours.

This signal improvement work addresses axle counter malfunctions that have slowed MetroRail service and increased travel time for drivers at rail crossings.
