Alstom Launches the Women Forum Initiative in Chorzow

Alstom in Chorzow, Poland organized its first edition of the Women forum, an initiative aimed at promoting gender diversity within the company.

Alstom in Chorzow, Poland organized its first edition of the Women forum, an initiative aimed at promoting gender diversity within the company. The first Women forum in Poland gathered the 130 women working for Alstom in Poland. 

As agreed by its founders, Alstom women, the program is dedicated to supporting personal & professional development, sharing ideas, improving health care, work-life balance & helping working mothers. The Women Forum steering committee presented the Forum’s framework ideas based on inputs collected over the last months through an internal opinion survey and dedicated workshops conducted among female employees in all Alstom sites in Poland.

“The Forum will act through training and developing initiatives, networking, sharing best practices and celebrating success stories. Success, satisfaction and accomplishment are key to reinforce women talent development”, said Monika Kościelna, one of the leaders of the initiative.

Alstom, which operates in a manufacturing environment and employs over 1,000 people in Poland, including over 130 women, encourages initiatives of this kind, as part of its global strategy for 2020. The plant in Chorzów is Alstom’s manufacturing competence center, specialized in production of metro, trams, regional trains as well as components for urban and sub-urban transport.
