New UTA Bus Stop Amenities Along Route 200

Oct. 12, 2016
The Utah Transit Authority (UTA) is in the process of improving bus stops along one of its most-traveled routes.

Route 200 riders will soon be able to enjoy improved bus stops that are fully ADA accessible. UTA has received a $50,000 Community Development Block Grant from Salt Lake County to add concrete pads, benches and garbage cans to 20 to 30 stops. Shelters will be added where space allows. UTA will provide matching funds to help complete the process.

The improved stops will be located along State Street from 2100 South to 5400 South. UTA planners selected stops that are major transfer points or are heavily used for improvements. Work on the stops is expected to start later this year and be completed by spring of 2017.

UTA has also added amenities to seven State Street bus stops north of 2100 South over the past several months, including the stop shown above at 1916 S. State Street.
