Stark Area Regional Transit Authority (SARTA) hosted Congressman Bob Gibbs on Wednesday, October 5, 2016. Congressman Bob Gibbs toured SARTA's newly constructed Hydrogen Fueling Facility and enjoyed a short ride on the new Hydrogen Fuel Cell Bus.
Congressman Gibbs is a member of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee. He has been instrumental in the development and passage of the FAST (Fixing America's Surface Transportation) Act. This was the first multi-year transportation bill in over 10 years. This Act provides for a dedicated source of funding for transportation and transportation related projects.
Congressman Gibbs' has a long history of support of transportation initiatives, and SARTA. As a result, his efforts are ensuring that Ohioans have access to safe and affordable transportation to go to work, school, medical appointments and much more. Gibbs was also instrumental in SARTA obtaining the grant funding for the Hydrogen Fuel Cell project by writing letters of support for this innovative project.
