Robert Turton, PE, SE, has been named national bridge practice leader for TranSystems Corp.

Robert Turton, PE, SE, has been named national bridge practice leader for TranSystems Corp. He brings more than 35 years of industry experience and is an accomplished practitioner in the planning, design and construction of structures using state-of-the-art analysis, design and construction techniques.

In this role, Turton will help the firm grow its ENR-ranked #11 bridge practice, providing overall strategy and branding and working across all transportation market sectors.

Turton has had a significant role in several large, iconic bridge projects in the U.S., including the Sixth Street Viaduct in Los Angeles, the Hoover Dam Bypass and the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge East Bay Crossing.

Turton is active in many industry organizations, including the American Segmental Bridge Institute, the American Society of Civil Engineers and the International Association for Bridge and Structural Engineering. He holds a Master of Science in civil/structural engineering from the University of Arizona and a Bachelor of Science in aerospace engineering from Boston University.
