Axiomtek recently introduced CEM500, the new COM Express Type 6 basic module based on the 14nm 6th generation Intel Core i7/i5/i3 and Celeron processors (codename: Skylake-H) with Intel QM170/HM170 chipset.

Axiomtek recently introduced CEM500, the new COM Express Type 6 basic module based on the 14nm 6th generation Intel Core i7/i5/i3 and Celeron processors (codename: Skylake-H) with Intel QM170/HM170 chipset. The outstanding Intel Gen 9 HD Graphics enables the CEM500 driving multiple 4K displays without the need of a discrete graphics card. Two DDR4-2133 SO-DIMM supporting up to 32 GB system memory capacity and four SATA-600 with RAID 0, 1, 5, and 10 are available.

Additionally, the rugged COM Express computer-on-module Type 6 supports an industrial operating temperature range of -40°C to 85°C for applications in extreme harsh environment. With its full solid, outstanding computing performance and low power consumption design, the Intel CoreTM-based CEM500 is targeted at telecommunication, medical imaging, digital signage, gaming machines, military, human machine interface, industrial automation controllers and IIoT applications.

“The Axiomtek CEM500 is its first Intel Skylake-based module built to COM Express Type 6 specs in the basic (125 x 95mm) format. It supports Intel QM170/HM170 chipset bringing fast I/O capabilities with greater flexibility and visibly improved performance. With its rugged small form factor and high-bandwidth I/O design, the power efficient COM Express Basic size module satisfies a wide range of applications. Besides, it provides three independent displays via three DDI channels (HDMI, DisplayPort, or DVI), and LVDS interface or four lanes of eDP. Intel HD audio is also provided by linked to baseboard,” said Yifei Wang, product manager of PM Division at Axiomtek. ”Axiomtek also offers an optional CEB94006 baseboard that provides ports for most of the CEM500’s I/O.”

The Axiomtek CEM500 comes with serial signaling protocols, including one PCIe x16 v3.0, eight PCIe x1, four SATA-600, one Gigabit Ethernet supporting Wake-on-LAN, PXE Boot ROM with Intel i219LM, one HD audio linked to baseboard, one LPC interface, one SPI interface, one I2C interface, 4-channel Digital I/O, eight USB 2.0, and four USB 3.0. The module runs on +12V or +5VSB power with both AT and ATX modes. To ensure reliability and stability, hardware monitoring, TPM, Watchdog Timer and AMI uEFI BIOS with Intel Active Management Technology 11.0 are supported. Axiomtek AXView 2.0, intelligent remote management software, is also available with the CEM500.
