Siew-Chin Yeong to serve as SFMTA's new Director of Capital Programs and Construction

The San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA) just completed an international search for the agency’s Director of Capital Programs & Construction division.

The San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA) just completed an international search for the agency’s Director of Capital Programs & Construction division. This division works closely with the agency’s contractors on various projects throughout the city to both enhance the safety and reliability of SFMTA's transit system and to improve the transit system for future generations of San Franciscans.

Siew-Chin Yeong will serve as SFMTA's next sirector of capital programs & construction effective August 1, 2016. 

Siew-Chin currently serves as Deputy Director of Project Delivery for the Sustainable Streets Division. She is a licensed engineer with more than 18 years of experience in design and construction. She has managed heavy highway construction projects, transportation systems, transit systems, as well as building and facilities modernization projects in both the private and public sectors. She worked for Flatiron Construction Corporation, Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART), San Francisco Public Works, and the SFMTA. Siew-Chin also holds a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering and Construction Management from Iowa State University.

A dedicated and goal oriented manager, Siew-Chin has a proven record in leading the delivery of wide-ranging capital projects delivering on schedule and on budget. Her recent success in implementing Capital Projects Controls System (CPCS) and launching new project delivery procedures for SSD helped the division centralize its project information tracking for better project management and performance measurement.

In her new role, Siew-Chin will continue to explore and implement policies and procedures to improve project management and the delivery of complex capital projects. Her expertise will help strengthen and build on the great teams within CP&C, while tackling new challenges and working to improve key stakeholder relationships internally and externally.
