Mountain Line offers a safe and reliable transportation option for students to get to and from school and other activities. This year, Mountain line will continue the fixed-route deviations started last August on Routes 2 and 3 to better serve BASIS School and Northland Preparatory Academy (NPA). The Route 2 deviation traverses Gemini Dr., stopping in front of BASIS, with four morning arrivals and two afternoon departures in each direction. The Route 3 deviation stops at Fourth St. and Sparrow Ave. in both directions twice in the morning and afternoon.
Flagstaff Arts & Leadership Academy (FALA) students can also take advantage of supplemental morning and afternoon service on Route 5, which offers more options to get to and from school. In addition, Mountain Line’s existing routes and schedules offer reliable service to several other FUSD and charter schools in Flagstaff, including Coconino High, Flag High, Mount Elden Middle School, Sinagua, and Flagstaff Junior Academy.
Flagstaff students enrolled in a K-12 school can purchase a Mountain Line semester pass for $49. Fall semester passes are valid Aug. 1 – Dec. 31 and spring semester passes are valid Jan. 1 – Jun. 15. An annual pass, valid for the entire calendar year from the date of purchase, is available for $119. Both passes are valid on the entire Mountain Line and Mountain Link system for the duration of the pass. Any parent who comes to the Mountain Line office to purchase a pass will receive a complimentary day pass to test out the bus system and accompany their K-12 student on a trip.
Any student attending a university, college, technical school, or any other post-high school educational program, is able to purchase the Mountain Line college/university pass. The semester pass costs $99, with the fall pass valid from Aug. 15 – Dec. 20 and the spring pass valid from Jan. 5 – May 15. An annual pass, valid for the entire calendar year from the date of purchase, is available for $239. Northern Arizona University students ride the Mountain Link system, which connects the campus with downtown Flagstaff and Woodlands Village, free of charge, but this pass will give them access to the rest of the Mountain Line system.
Student passes are available for purchase at the NAIPTA office at 3773 N. Kaspar Dr. between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday-Friday. In order to purchase the pass, all students must show proof of enrollment and bring a student ID, if applicable. Passes can also be purchased at www.mountainline.az.gov and will be mailed to students.
