The North County Transit District (NCTD) was informed of a potential work stoppage on San Diego Metropolitan Transit System’s (MTS) paratransit service Access and Sorrento Valley Coaster Connections (MTS routes 972, 973, 978, & 979).

The North County Transit District (NCTD) was informed of a potential work stoppage on San Diego Metropolitan Transit System’s (MTS) paratransit service Access and Sorrento Valley Coaster Connections (MTS routes 972, 973, 978, & 979). This potential disruption is due to labor negotiations between union members and First Transit, who provides these services for MTS.

Based on information shared by MTS about the current status of negotiations, a work stoppage by the Access and Coaster Connection drivers may be imminent. In addition, NCTD has received communication from Union leadership that the potential work stoppage could also affect NCTD services, however no further details were provided.

MTS has stated that the work stoppage could occur as soon as Wednesday of this week. NCTD passengers are encouraged to be prepared with alternative forms of transportation should the stoppage take place.
