National Express is stepping up a gear this half-term as it announces its top ten most popular city destinations to reach by coach.

The coach operator has already taken tens of thousands of bookings and added tens of thousands of extra seats to its network, as it gears up for the half-term rush (Friday, Feb. 12 - Sunday, Feb. 21).

Meanwhile National Express’ advanced bookings figures reveal that London is the most popular destination to travel to during the break followed by Birmingham and Bristol, with thousands booked to travel to each destination.

To help people take advantage of the forthcoming half-term break, National Express is making tens of thousands of fares for a fiver available.

This means for just £5 customers could take a boat trip along Birmingham’s famous canal network, enjoy the view from the Clifton Suspension Bridge in Bristol, tour Portsmouth’s famous historic dockyards or stroll along the Bournemouth seafront promenade.

The top ten most popular destinations to travel to by coach this half-term are:

  • London
  • Birmingham
  • Bristol
  • Cardiff
  • Leeds
  • Manchester
  • Portsmouth
  • Bournemouth
  • Nottingham
  • Leicester

National Express UK Coach managing director Tom Stables said, “Half-term is a popular time to take a break from the daily routine and our figures show that tens of thousands of people are planning a trip to some of the UK’s top cities, to explore and take in the sights.

“We are pleased to be able to offer tens of thousands for fares for just £5 to make a half-term break as affordable as possible.”
