SLO Transit Expands Service Options

Jan. 27, 2016
Beginning Monday, Feb. 1st, SLO Transit will provide the general public with a new bus service option in an effort to alleviate high ridership demands on weekday mornings.

Beginning Monday, Feb. 1st, SLO Transit will provide the general public with a new bus service option in an effort to alleviate high ridership demands on weekday mornings. The Kennedy Library Tripper will service Downtown, Cal Poly, and the Ramona Drive neighborhood, arriving at existing Route 4 and Route 5 bus stops approximately 10 minutes before the scheduled Route 4 and Route 5 service. The Kennedy Library Tripper will service three morning trips Monday through Friday from approximately 7 AM to 10 AM.

The Kennedy Library Tripper will be the second “tripper” bus service provided by SLO Transit. “Tripper” bus service is distinguished from other routes by its limited trips designed around peak traffic and ridership periods. The general public can connect to the Kennedy Library Tripper from every SLO Transit route. This new route option provides the public with access to the Kennedy Library on Cal Poly’s campus approximately twice per hour during the service time-frame.
