Gradall Rail Maintenance Machines Available With Neotec Rail Gear

Oct. 27, 2015

Gradall Industries Inc. announced that Gradall Railway Maintenance Machines are now available with Neotec rail gears with hydrostatic drive.

Neotec rail gear systems feature hydrostatic drive axles on the front and rear of the carrier. When the machine is driven on tracks, an in-cab switch raises the tires off the rails, saving wear on the axles and tires. When the machine is lowered for work, the tires can be positioned next to the rails on the ground, or on the rails, for full stability during digging, track repair work, ballast spreading, track side grading and other functions.

The Gradall machines have been popular worldwide for their excellent versatility – distinguished by their telescoping booms that can tilt 220 degrees and work on low-profile sites inside tunnels and under bridges. Further boom-end attachment movement can be provided by adding an optional Kinshofer Nox-Tiltrotator.

Neotec rail gear systems can be affixed to all Gradall on/off pavement railway maintenance models – the XL 3300 III, XL 4300 III and XL 5300 III. The rail gear is powered by the machine’s hydraulic system with diverter valves, while hydrostatic drive achieves on-rail speeds up to about 15 mph. To operate couplers, an air compressor option is available.
