Rhine-Lafayette Pedestrian Overpass Opens in Portland

Sept. 2, 2015

On Sept 2, the new and improved Rhine-Lafayette Pedestrian Overpass opens with a ribbon-cutting event in the Brooklyn neighborhood.

The new bridge improves connections for people biking, walking or using mobility devices in the Brooklyn neighborhood to Cleveland High School, Winterhaven School, Fred Meyer headquarters, and the new Max Orange Line station at SE 17th Ave & Rhine St and nearby bus stops. It replaces an aging pedestrian bridge that was built around 1943 over the Union Pacific Railroad tracks.
