Edmonton to Take Part in Park(ing) Day

July 28, 2015

Edmontonians are encouraged to take part in Park(ing) Day on Sept. 18, an annual worldwide event where metered parking spots are transformed into temporary public parks and other innovative spaces. The city of Edmonton’s Citylab, the Drawing Room and City-Region Studies Centre are organizing Park(ing) Day at parking spots near Canada Place from noon to 6 p.m.

Citizens are invited to be a part of Park(ing) Day. Come up with an idea. We’ll provide the space and the materials to help turn your project into reality.

Submit a proposal online by midnight Aug. 17. Proposals will be reviewed by a committee of organizers and applicants will be notified within two weeks.

Attend the Park(ing) Day Design Workshop on Aug. 11. Register to attend for help with your proposal and to meet other participants.
