David Brandauer Appointed VP Public Transit Kapsch CarrierCom

Kapsch CarrierCom announced the appointment of David Brandauer as vice president of public transit CarrierCom North America, effective April.

Brandauer, who has more than 25 years of experience in public transportation, will coordinate sales and projects for Kapsch in the region. The technology company, based in Austria, has a strong footprint in intelligent transportation systems and telecommunication networks for rail operators worldwide, and has hired him to develop business in the public transit segment in North America.

Brandauer brings with him a wealth of North American and international experience in both operations and technologies in public transit. "We are very proud to have an expert on board, who has the proven ability and experience to drive corporate start-ups and who has already contributed to substantial growth of several companies in the industry," says Kari Kapsch, CEO of Kapsch CarrierCom.

Brandauer has held critical positions for several companies most recently as COO at Blic Inc. Former companies in his career include: Trapeze Group, Init-Innovation in Transportation Inc. and Outreach. Furthermore, he is active in several industry associations, including American Public Transportation Association (APTA), Canadian Urban Transit Association (CUTA) and Intelligent Transportation Society of America (ITS America) where he has held various positions of responsibility.

On a personal level, Brandauer has a strong affinity for the United States, where he has resided for 20 years, for Canada through his birth, upbringing and education, and for Austria, through his father, who was born and raised in Austria.
