Port Authority Board Gets New Member

May 11, 2015

Port Authority of Allegheny County announced Robert Vescio was named to its board of directors. Vescio was appointed to the board by Speaker of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives Mike Turzai in late April, with his term to expire Sept. 23, 2016. He fills the board seat recently vacated by David B. White.

Vescio is a principal with Cohen & Grigsby, P.C., based in Downtown Pittsburgh, and one of the original principals that launched the firm’s public affairs practice. His experience spans a variety of industries, including transportation, economic development, local government and labor.

Prior to joining Cohen & Grigsby, Vescio worked for the Pennsylvania Senate and House of Representatives, and as senior staff to Allegheny County Chief Executive Jim Roddey.

Vescio has a Master of Public Policy & Management degree from the University of Pittsburgh’s Graduate School of Public & International Affairs and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Sociology from Mercyhurst University.  He also serves on the board of directors for the Pennsylvania Partnership for Children.

“I’d like to thank Speaker Turzai on selecting Rob to serve on the Authority’s Board of Directors,” said Port Authority Chairman Robert Hurley. “I’ve worked with Rob and know his experience with economic development and transportation policy will both compliment the makeup of our Board and benefit the riders we serve.”
