It is an experience that Cactus High School sophomore, Sofia Garcia, will never forget. Garcia is the winner of the 2015 Design a Transit Wrap Contest.
At school April 30, with her friends and family watching, the 15-year-old’s winning artwork was unveiled and a Valley Metro bus pulled up to campus wrapped with her design and slogan, “Our Future’s Ride.” Her design will be displayed on the bus and a light rail train for a year.
More than 190 high school students from across the Valley entered the 2015 contest. The art contest is part of a larger effort to spread awareness about the benefits of public transit and to engage the next generation of riders.
