ConnectCard Website Launches April 16

April 13, 2015

Starting April 16, Port Authority riders can manage their ConnectCard accounts online through a new website.

The new web feature will allow customers to load and reload fare products and stored cash value on their cards from their computer. Customers may also take advantage of a new auto-reload feature to avoid running out of stored cash value or to purchase new passes.

“This is another tremendous enhancement for transit riders in Allegheny County, making it even easier to load passes and value on the ConnectCard,” said Allegheny County Executive Rich Fitzgerald. “We are focusing on making our transit system as simple and accessible as possible and this is another significant step in that direction.”

Purchases made online will not instantly be available on the ConnectCard and may take 2-3 days to process, especially if a purchase is made on a Friday or over a weekend.

Customers still may purchase fare passes and add stored cash value by visiting the Authority’s Service Center in Downtown, any participating retail location – including most Giant Eagle stores - or a ConnectCard vending machine. All of these locations are listed, and mapped, on the website.

“Port Authority is focused on improving the transit experience for our riders, and to attract more riders to the services we offer,” said Port Authority CEO Ellen McLean. “The added convenience of this online ConnectCard management system is just another way we’re making our system easier and friendlier to riders.”

The new system uses industry-standard SSL Authentication to keep personal information safe and secure.
