PTSI Transportation Adds Robert C. VanderClute to its Board

April 7, 2015

With a career spanning almost 50 years, Robert C. VanderClute is no stranger to the railway industry; in fact his vast experience has made him a well-known and respected industry leader.

From 1965 as an operating management trainee for New York Central (later Penn Central), he has held various leadership positions in a number of companies, including vice president – operations at Amtrak, vice president – rail at Parsons Brinckerhoff, and senior vice president – safety and operations for the Association of American Railroads. Since his retirement from AAR, he has established his own consultancy, First Rail International. He was welcomed as a member of the Board of directors of PTSI Transportation in early 2015.

PTSI Transportation has recently revised its board of directors to include five members. Ironically, four are New York Central veterans and three are former NYC Operating Management Trainees, including Vice Chairman Gordon R. Fuller. At one time, Fuller headed that program, and more recently, served as an operating executive for the Maine Eastern, Morristown & Erie, and was formerly owner and president of the Toledo, Peoria & Western. Secretary-Treasurer and Board Member Joshua Coran, a long-time railroad mechanical officer, started his career on the NYC. Board Member Richard H. Rudolph, Ph. D. has served as chair of the Amtrak Customer Advisory Committee and currently chairs the Rail Users’ Network.
