New York City Transit’s Award to 4One Creates Jobs in Buffalo, N.Y

March 30, 2015

4ONE selected Buffalo’s Engineered Composites Inc. (ECI) as its strategic supplier for its new bus-seating contract with the New York City Transit Authority (NYCTA).

In this key role, ECI will manufacture hundreds of 4ONE’s Angel fiberglass passenger seats for NYCTA’s order of 120 New Flyer Xcelsior heavy-duty buses.

“When New York City Transit riders take a seat on these new buses, they’ll be enjoying seats manufactured by 4ONE which are made largely from material from Western New York,” said Senator Tim Kennedy. “I’m thrilled to see in-state investment from a state-governed public authority like New York City Transit, creating jobs locally and delivering a quality product for public transit riders.”

The agreement with NYCTA and 4ONE will help boost Buffalo’s economy by bringing critical, highly skilled and well-paying manufacturing jobs to the area.

“Investments in transportation equal jobs in the private sector and in this case we have a very direct link to the purchase of equipment in New York and job creation in Buffalo. This is a win-win for the riders in New York City and for our employment base in Buffalo,” said Ray Melleady, managing director, North America for 4ONE’s USSC.

“We are extremely pleased and proud at ECI to partner with 4ONE, the premier transportation seating solutions company with a solid reputation for quality, comfort and innovation,” said David Holmes, national sales manager, ECI.  “Our employees look forward to fulfilling New York City Transit Authority’s seating order and wish to express our gratitude to 4ONE’s commitment to sourcing locally here in Buffalo.”
