Transdev Awarded JET Contract Extension

Feb. 19, 2015

The Jefferson Parish Transit Administration awarded a two-year extension to its existing contract with Transdev on Jan. 28.  Transdev provides fixed route bus and paratransit services for 2.1 millions passengers in Jefferson Parish each year.   Transdev has proudly operated the Jefferson Transit (JeT) system for over 60 years.

Transdev provides operations and maintenance services for JeT, utilizing 58 vehicles and 122 employees for fixed route bus and paratransit services.

“We have been honored to serve Jefferson Parish for the past 60+ years and look forward to continuing to offer excellent service.  We are committed to supporting our client in making the transit system even more attractive to riders by introducing some new passenger conveniences such as real-time bus arrival information. We thank the Jefferson Parish Council Members for their continued trust in our team and service,” says Derrick Breun, Transdev’s regional vice president responsible for overseeing this contract.

Transdev is dedicated to helping make the JeT system more accessible and convenient to riders and participates in numerous community events.

“The JeT contract is Transdev’s oldest transit contract in the United States.  We are proud of that legacy and look forward to a positive future together,” says General Manager Orlandez Pierre.

Breun added, “Our long history has been characterized by a true spirit of partnership with JeT, which we greatly appreciate and value.”
