Tri-Valley transit riders have the safest ride as confirmed by the California Highway Patrol (CHP), who passed the Wheels bus system in its annual inspection with flying colors. Like all other transit agencies in California, The Livermore Amador Valley Transit Authority (LAVTA), operator of the Wheels bus system, and its operations and maintenance contractor, MV Transportation, are subject to annual operator compliance inspections by the CHP.  The inspections include maintenance and safety of the vehicles, as well as licensing, training and testing of operators and maintenance personnel.  For 2015, the agency has passed all criteria for the 12th consecutive year.

“This signifies a major achievement in providing our riders with the highest and most consistent level of safety.  MV Transportation has trained and developed staff over the past 12 years to maintain this high standard,” said Executive Director Michael Tree.
