Two Arrested in Metro Station Stabbing

Metro Transit Police have arrested two suspects in connection with a stabbing Jan. 24 at Morgan Boulevard Station.

Darreion D. Owens, 20, of Hyattsville, Md. and a second suspect, 15, of Maryland, were stopped by Transit Police officers shortly after the incident. Subsequent investigation, including witness accounts and video evidence, led to their arrest. Transit Police also recovered a knife.

Both suspects will be charged with Attempted Murder, First Degree Assault, and Second Degree Assault. The juvenile is expected to be charged as an adult.

The incident occurred shortly after 11 p.m. at Morgan Boulevard Station. Upon arrival, MTPD officers found an adult male victim with stab wounds to his back. The victim was transported to a local hospital, and is currently in serious but stable condition.

The stabbing appears to have resulted from an attempted robbery.

Trains were held briefly while officers responded.
