Bryan Smith Joins Champaign-Urbana Mass Transit District

Bryan Smith has joined the Champaign-Urbana Mass Transit District (MTD) as chief operating officer.

Bryan Smith has joined the Champaign-Urbana Mass Transit District (MTD) as chief operating officer. He is the manager of MTD's Operations, Maintenance, Safety and Training, and Marketing/Customer Service/Communications Departments.

Smith formerly worked at the Portage Area Regional Transportation Authority (PARTA) in Kent, Ohio. He began work at PARTA as a bus operator while a student at Kent State University. At PARTA, he held the positions of road supervisor/dispatcher, maintenance manager, assistant operations manager, operations manager, manager of business development and ultimately, director of planning. His wide range of experiences will be beneficial in his role at MTD.

Smith is a graduate of Kent State University and has a Law degree from the University of Akron. He says that, "Champaign-Urbana is a place I can work and be happy. I feel like I can be part of a good team. I have a passion for this business and I am excited about the opportunity."

Smith, his wife and three children, and their two dogs and one cat are eagerly looking forward to relocating to Champaign-Urbana.
