Wood Joins Transdev North America as Vice President of Business Development

Transdev Senior Vice President of Business Development Dick Alexander announced Matthew Wood has joined the Transdev team as a vice president of business development.

Transdev Senior Vice President of Business Development Dick Alexander announced Matthew Wood has joined the Transdev team as a vice president of Business Development. Wood is a seasoned professional in public transit and served in both business development and leading operational management roles in various organizations.

In his new role, Wood will focus on the continued growth of Transdev as the largest private-sector operator of multiple modes of transit. His primary focus will include further developing Transdev’s transit and paratransit businesses as well as its IntelliRide services division, which offers brokered transportation for Medicaid, healthcare and ADA-certified persons passengers. He will be part of Transdev’s Business Development team reporting to Rahul Kumar, the company’s North American VP of Business Development.

In making the announcement, Alexander said, “Matt is an experienced leader who is well respected in our industry. His passion for designing and offering innovative solutions to clients will be a true asset to us. He brings a wealth of knowledge to ensure that we continue to provide the safest, highest quality service to our clients and passengers.”

Prior to joining Transdev (previously Veolia Transportation), Wood most recently served as managing partner of the Transit Access Group, a national transportation and logistics consulting company. Wood’s prior experience also includes serving as a member of First Transit’s executive leadership team as senior vice president for the Transit Contracting Division in the Eastern Region. In this role, Wood was responsible for an annual operating budget of $350 million and more than 3,800 cross-functional employees. Wood is an active member of various industry trade organizations, such as Community Transportation Association of America (CTAA) and APTA, where he also serves on the Accessibility Call Center Working Group to establish best practices for the transit industry.
