Marion H. Van Fosson began his tenure as the president of Brookville Equipment Corp. on Dec. 8, and will oversee the Pennsylvania-based manufacturer’s long-term strategy and daily operations across all business units, including mining, tunneling, locomotives, and streetcar products.

He also served in the United States Army for 22 years before retiring in 2001.

“Mr. Van Fosson’s experience and expertise, coupled with a track record of proven growth for businesses of similar size, scale, and markets will be a tremendous asset to the Brookville team,” said Brookville CEO and Chairman Dalph S. McNeil. “Under his leadership, we will be focused on continuing to improve and expand the products and services we provide to each industry we support, while simultaneously achieving sustainable, long-term growth at Brookville.”

While with the U.S. Army, Van Fosson led combat vehicle development efforts for the startup Defense Advanced Research Program Agency (DARPA). Additional accolades include directing engineering and serving as chief scientist at the Joint National Test Facility for Aerospace Defense, developing command, control and communications systems for hostile environments, and serving as an assistant professor of Physics at West Point.

In the private sector, he served as president for Northrop Grumman’s Litton Electro-Optical Systems Division. Van Fosson also was vice president and general manager at BAE Systems in the aerospace defense business unit. Van Fosson has also held the position of vice president and general manager at EMS Technologies Defense, reigniting growth for the company which led to the acquisition and integration into Honeywell.

“I am very excited about joining a company with such an outstanding reputation for delivering high quality products used in the mining, tunneling, locomotive and streetcar markets,” said Van Fosson. “I look forward to working with the men and women in Brookville Equipment Corporation to grow the business.”

Van Fosson holds a Master of Science in Physics from Carnegie Mellon University and will be relocating to Western Pennsylvania with his wife, Kathryn.
