'Fill the Flyer' Food Drive at Area Grocery Stores Dec. 8-13

Dec. 5, 2014
The goal of the “Fill the Flyer” food drive is to collect a bus load of food and non-perishable items for the St. Cloud Salvation Army and the Catholic Charities Emergency Services food shelves.

St. Cloud Metro Bus and Townsquare Media are hosting a food drive at participating Coborn’s, Cash Wise, Byerly’s and Walmart stores to help area families this holiday season. The goal of the “Fill the Flyer” food drive is to collect a bus load of food and non-perishable items for the St. Cloud Salvation Army and the Catholic Charities Emergency Services food shelves.

Last winter, this drive collected more than 2,300 pounds and nearly $1,770 in donations for Catholic Charities and the Salvation Army.

Cash donations are encouraged because they have the opportunity to be matched through the Skalicky Foundation’s annual Charity Challenge, which will match every dollar donated to three area food shelves up to $75,000 this holiday season. Food shelves also have more purchasing power than individuals, making cash gifts ideal.
