A local shuttle service operated by Caltrain has been recognized as an ideal Public Transportation Project by the Best Businesses of Burlingame Award Program.

The Broadway-Millbrae Shuttle, which offers non-stop service between the Broadway Caltrain Station and the Millbrae Caltrain/BART Station, was honored by the group, which advocates on the behalf of small businesses in the Burlingame area.

The awards programs are an annual event honoring the achievements and accomplishments of local businesses and organizations throughout the Burlingame area. The Broadway-Millbrae shuttle was selected in the Public Transportation Category as an example of a program that makes the Burlingame area “a great place to live, work and play.”

The shuttle was established as an alternative for passengers when weekday Caltrain service was suspended at the Broadway station in Burlingame. The shuttle runs for over three hours during both the morning and afternoon commutes on weekdays, making non-stop trips between the two stations. It’s free for all Caltrain passengers.

Funding for the shuttle service is provided by the Bay Area Air Quality Management District Transportation, Caltrain and the San Mateo County Transportation Authority. Caltrain still operates regular weekend train service to the Broadway station.
