Nashville MTA Bus Operators, Mechanics Win at State Roadeo

Five Nashville Metropolitan Transit Authority (MTA) bus operators and mechanics received honors for their performance in the state championship roadeo competition held during the Tennessee Public Transportation Association (TPTA) Annual Conference in Knox

Five Nashville Metropolitan Transit Authority (MTA) bus operators and mechanics received honors for their performance in the state championship roadeo competition held during the Tennessee Public Transportation Association (TPTA) Annual Conference in Knoxville.  

Bobby Kerce, who has been a mechanic with the transit agency for five years, brought home the “Big Wrench” for his victory in the van maintenance division in his first state roadeo appearance.  In the bus maintenance division, Troy Willis, who has been a mechanic with the transit agency for nine years, finished second, and Kyle Kruk, who has been a mechanic with the transit agency for seven years, finished third. 

Chris Vick, who has been a bus operator with the transit agency for 12 years, finished third in the 35-foot bus division and Adrell Stringer, who has been a bus operator with the transit agency for seven years, finished third in the 40-foot bus division. 

MTA also captured the spirit stick for its great support of its roadeo contestants during the state competition.
