Sun Tran Welcomes New Assistant GM

A seasoned transit professional, Forte brings over 16 years of experience in the transit industry, most recently serving as the assistant general manager for the Transit Authority of Lexington Kentucky (Lextran) in Lexington, Ky.

Sun Tran has named Jared A. Forte as a new assistant general manager.  A seasoned transit professional, Forte brings over 16 years of experience in the transit industry, most recently serving as the assistant general manager for the Transit Authority of Lexington Kentucky (Lextran) in Lexington, Ky.

Forte is an employee of Transdev, the company contracted by the city of Tucson to manage the daily operations of Sun Tran. His responsibilities at Sun Tran include oversight of several departments, including scheduling and services development, procurement and operations.

Hired in August 2007 as the assistant general manager at Lextran, Forte supervised operations, maintenance and procurement departments. He secured multiple grants and implemented the transit system’s presence on Google Transit, among other management information system projects. He was the project manager for multiple comprehensive operational analyses and a study on the city’s downtown trolley. Previous to his position as assistant general manager, Forte was the director of planning and marketing at Gary Public Transportation Corp. (GPTC). Forte received his Masters in Business Administration from Keller Graduate School of Management of DeVry University in Oakbrook Terrace, Ill. in 2009. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Design and Bachelors of Urban Planning and Development from Ball State University in Muncie, Ind.
