RailComm to Install and Provide Remote Control to Multiple New Switches at Port of Los Angeles

Nov. 6, 2014
Remotely controlling these new switches will allow POLA to easily and efficiently route traffic through its operation.

RailComm has been chosen to install and provide control to multiple switches throughout the Port of Los Angeles (POLA) terminal. Remotely controlling these new switches will allow POLA to easily and efficiently route traffic through its operation.

Control for these locations is being provided via the Domain Operations Controller (DOC) system – RailComm’s proprietary yard control application. Additionally, RailComm will install DTMF control equipment that will enable POLA to throw switches and route trains using standard hand-held radios. Every action involving the DOC System, including DTMF control requests, will be recorded by the system and logged in a database allowing for review and analysis using integrated software tools.

The DOC software-based control system is an advanced command, control, communications and information (C3i) server-based platform that supports a wide variety of integrated solutions for indication, control, access, and distribution of critical operational data across the corporate enterprise.
