Embark was honored in October with multiple awards from state and national transit peers including the Oklahoma Transit Association (OTA) and the American Public Transportation Association (APTA).

The premier international transportation association - APTA - awarded five First Place AdWheel Awards and a Grand Prize to Embark for creative excellence in public transit marketing and communications. Presented in Houston at the annual conference, over 500 entries competed this year in the five categories of print, electronic, campaign, special event, and social media. First place honors were awarded in various subcategories for each of the four groups, based on system size. Grand Award winners were chosen from those first place winners in each group. "It was invigorating to once again see Oklahoma City represented in the national spotlight, but even more so, for our efforts to communicate the benefits of public transportation," shared Ward 5 Councilman David Greenwell. "It was humbling to be recognized, as there were many high quality and effective strategies employed by other entries."

The 2014 Oklahoma Transit Driving Championships, hosted by the Oklahoma Transit Association, is an event showcasing the skills and expertise of our public transit operators. Embark Plus Operator, Jackie Gritz took home fifth place and was the first contestant to place as a first year participant.

"We're extremely proud of Jackie, this competition is known for being very tough and is designed to test participants' limits,” says Jason Ferbrache, Embark administrator. "Jackie represented us well, and competed alongside other award winning veterans of the competition."
